If you’re one of the lucky ones heading to a beach, ski slope or amusement park this spring break, here are a few tips on how to keep your clothes looking their best while you’re far from laundry facilities.
Pack a spot cleaner

Pack a universal sink plug

Pack a clothesline (and clips)
This may seem over the top, but if you have a clothesline you don’t need a dryer. If you’re on a ski vacation, simply hang your clothesline in your hotel bathroom, most items will dry overnight. If you’re somewhere hot and sunny, hang your clothesline across the balcony. Hang items early in the morning, and by midday, they’ll be dry. If vacationing in the tropics, avoid hanging items overnight as many places have light tropical storms while you sleep.
Pack clothes that are easy to clean
Opt for quick-drying and moisture-wicking fabrics, like microfibre or blends. These are much easier to care for than clothes made of thick or natural fibres, like denim or wool. If possible, your holiday wardrobe should only contain items that are hand-washable. Leave your “dry-clean only” pieces at home.
PRO TIP: If you have clothes that won’t dry quickly on their own, ask housekeeping for extra towels. After washing, all you need to do is lay the item flat on a towel and roll it up. Now, gently twist the towel to squeeze out excess water. Unroll the towel and give your clothing a shake before hanging up to dry.
