Genius Cleaning Ideas: Low and No Mess Dinners!'s featured image

Weeknights can be a whirlwind of work, errands and activities. So, by the time dinner rolls around, the last thing you want to face is a sink full of dirty dishes. We know the struggle is real. That’s why we’re bringing you summer recipes that are high on taste and low on cleanup. And to minimize clean up even more, put everything on the BBQ.

The Magic of One-Pot Wonders

One-pot meals are champions of minimal cleanup. They combine all the ingredients in a single pot, skillet or Dutch oven, resulting in a flavourful dish with minimal mess.

Sausage and Veggie Sheet Pan Dinner Recipe

If cooking indoors, spread chopped sausage, peppers, onions and broccoli florets on a sheet pan and toss with olive oil and your favorite seasonings. If cooking on the BBQ, spread everything on a grilling basket.

Roast until everything is tender and caramelized. Dinner (and most of the cleanup) is done in under 40 minutes!

The Allure of Foil Packets

Foil packets are another fantastic option for easy cleanup. Simply combine your protein, vegetables, and seasonings in individual foil packets and bake! Better yet, throw your foil packets on the BBQ.

Lemon Herb Salmon with Roasted Asparagus Recipe

Place salmon filets (skin side down) on foil squares, top with lemon slices, fresh herbs and asparagus spears. Drizzle with olive oil and seal the packets tightly. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F until the salmon is cooked through and the asparagus is tender – about 15 minutes.

The All-Mighty Leftovers

Don’t underestimate the power of leftovers! Plan a larger portion of a weekend meal and repurpose it for a quick weeknight dinner. Leftover roasted chicken can be transformed into a delicious chicken salad sandwich or chicken pot pie.

For an extra time-saver, tackle small cleaning tasks throughout the cooking process. Wash and chop veggies while the oven preheats. Rinse utensils as you’re done using them. This way, you’ll minimize the post-dinner mess and have more time to relax!
