A Mini Home Refresh for the Shortest Month's featured image

February, the shortest month of the year, is packed with potential! While spring may seem ages away, this is the perfect time to give your home a mini-refresh to chase away the winter blues. Think of it as a head start on the big spring clean, with a touch of February magic sprinkled throughout.

Operation Dust Bunny Buster

Shorter days mean more time indoors and let’s be honest, dust bunnies are multiplying like crazy. Grab your trusty vacuum and attachments and go to war! Target those forgotten corners, baseboards and the tops of furniture. Don’t forget to enlist the help of microfibre cloths – they’re dust-trapping superheroes! Use them to banish dust from blinds, light fixtures and electronics.

Fresh Laundry & Fresh Air

While you’re at it, give those winter throws and blankets a good wash. They’ve been working hard keeping you cozy all winter long. Finally, open those windows (even if only for a minute ) to let in some fresh air and banish any stale winter odours.

Declutter & De-stress

February is the perfect time for a mini-declutter. Go through your clothes and say goodbye to anything you haven’t worn in a year. Donate, sell, hand-down or simply toss – whatever feels right. This not only frees up space but also prepares you for the inevitable spring cleaning frenzy.

Freshen Up The Floors

Don’t forget your rugs! Sprinkle them with baking soda to absorb odours and freshen them up. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes before vacuuming thoroughly. And what about the poor doormat, battered by snow and salt all winter long. Give it a good wash or replace it with a cheerful new one.

Sprout Some Springtime Cheer

Now let’s add some life back into your space! Swap out those heavy winter curtains for lighter, airier fabrics. It’s amazing how much brighter a room can feel with a simple change of curtains. Pack away those heavy winter scents and replace them with something lighter, like a citrus or lavender diffuser. Trust us, a change in fragrance can instantly lift your mood.
