Delightful Treats for Gifting Happiness!'s featured image

Whether it’s a birthday, a holiday or just a sweet surprise, baking tasty treats adds a personal touch that store-bought gifts simply can’t match. The aroma of homemade treats, the effort put into each recipe and the thoughtfulness of your presentation make these gifts truly special. So, roll up your sleeves, preheat the oven and let the gifting begin.

Timeless Ginger Cookies

Let’s start with a classic holiday favourite – the ever-popular Ginger Cookie. Way better than the popular Starbucks offering (sorry Sbux), this ginger cookie is bursting with flavour and super simple to whip up. It also yields a large batch of cookies with enough for you to keep some for yourself. Our go-to recipe is  https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/big-soft-ginger-cookies/.

Buy a vintage-looking glass jar and stack cookies to the brim. Attach a festive tag and a decorative bow and you’re good to go!

Pretzel, Rolo, Nutty delight bites!

These treats have a little bit of everything: a little sweet, a little savoury and a whole lotta tasty! Super easy to prepare, all you need is a bag of mini pretzel knots, a couple of packs of Rolo candy and some pecans or walnut halves. Toast your nuts and put them aside. Line a baking sheet with parchment, lay out your mini pretzel knots, top with a Rolo, and bake at 250 degrees Celsius for 3-5 minutes. Or until Rolo caramel pieces begin to soften, but not melt. Remove from the oven. Place either pecan half, walnut half, or another pretzel on top and then cool completely. Remember to share with Santa too!

These candy treats deliver well in small, decorative boxes or festive tins. Line them with parchment paper and tie it all together with a colourful ribbon. Add a personalized note for that extra touch, along with the recipe if you’re willing to share your secret!

The Un-Baked Op

Creating a chocolate chip cookie recipe in a jar is a delightful and visually appealing gift idea and great for those heading up north for the holidays! Start by gathering the dry ingredients for your favourite chocolate chip cookie recipe, such as all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt and sugar. Layer these ingredients in a clean, dry mason jar, creating distinct, colourful layers for an eye-catching presentation. Add the chocolate chips on top and attach a decorative tag to the jar with the remaining wet ingredients and baking instructions, ensuring clarity for the recipient.

Seal the jar, tie a festive ribbon around the lid and you’ve crafted a charming gift that not only looks fantastic but also allows the gift receiver to effortlessly whip up a batch of delicious homemade cookies. It’s a simple yet thoughtful way to share the joy of baking!
