Eco Cleaning Hacks for Cats and Dog's featured image

August brings double the pawsome celebrations: International Cat Day on the 8th, and National Dog Day on the 26th! Despite the love and cuddles we shower them with, our furry friends create cleaning challenges. No matter the mess, we’ve got four eco cleaning hacks to keep your home sparkling.

Essential Tips for Cat Crusaders:

The Litter Box Lowdown

Combat litter box odours with baking soda! Before adding litter, sprinkle a thin layer in the box.  Baking soda absorbs and soaks up odours and keeps your home smelling fresh.

Bonus Tip:  Scoop the litter box daily for maximum odour control.

Furniture Fur Fighters

It’s unavoidable, feline friends shed, but furniture doesn’t have to be a fur magnet. Invest in a rubber pet brush. This brush attracts fur like a charm, making removal quick and easy.

Bonus Tip: Dampen a rubber glove and wipe down furniture to pick up any remaining fur.

Our Doggone Mess Masters’ Favourites:

The Paw Print Patrol

No matter your strategy, muddy paw prints happen, so always keep a clean mud cloth by the door. This paw-specific cloth allows you to quickly wipe muddy paws before they make a mess.

Bonus Tip: Train your dog to wait by the door for a quick paw wipe-down before entering.

The Carpet Catastrophe

Does your dog love to roll around on the carpet? Here’s a quick hack for removing dog hair: Use a squeegee! Simply run the squeegee over the carpet to collect fur in neat piles. It’s fast, efficient and fur-ociously effective.

Bonus Tip: Regular vacuuming is key for deeper cleaning and pet dander removal.
