Kitchen Floor Clean-up's featured image

Your kitchen floor collects a lot of dirt and grime each day. To keep floors clean, make sure to clean up spills as soon as they happen in order to avoid staining. Not sure how to clean your floor? No problem! Here are some helpful cleaning tips from the residential cleaning experts at MOLLY MAID!

  • Ceramic flooring: Mop ceramic floors with water. Follow with a dry cloth to buff the floors and restore the shine. Never use an abrasive scrub as this will dull the shine and wear down the surface colours.
  • Hardwood flooring: Dry-mop or vacuum using the proper floor attachment. Then, use a damp mop to clean the floor. Buff dry. Do not wet-mop your hardwood floor or use furniture polish.
  • Laminate flooring: Clean with a mild detergent applied with a soft cloth. Cover stubborn stains with a paste with baking soda and water (three parts baking soda to one part water) and leave for five to ten minutes. Clean off with a soft-bristled brush.
  • Granite flooring: Dry-dust with a mop. Vacuum using a floor nozzle attachment that won’t scratch. Mop using a mild detergent and warm water. Make sure to clean the floor carefully as granite flooring is delicate and scratches easily.
